Iron and other metal ions catalyze the decomposition of peroxides, chelating metal ions through chelating agents to form chelate forms and remove chromogenic metal ions, which can better control the refining and bleaching processes.

Chelating agents are also beneficial for the removal of metal ions such as calcium and magnesium, facilitating the subsequent coloring of dyes, and improving the dyeing effect.

In textile printing and dyeing auxiliaries, chelating agents are usually used in combination with dispersants, such as low molecular weight polymers, polyacrylic acids, HPMA hydrolyzed polymaleic anhydride, etc. Dispersants can improve the dispersion performance of process liquid, uniformly disperse various components in the solution, facilitate reaction, prevent deposition and agglomeration, and form stable suspension.
