Chelating Agents:
like the “chela”
The chelating agent, which acts like a crab’s “claw” or “chela”, clamps the metal ions. Chelates are generally chelate ligand shape, relatively stable.
Chelating Agent are also called Complexing Agents, Sequestering Agents, Sequestrants, Chelants, Chelators.
Chelating Agents are widely used in water treatment chemicals, anti-scaling and cleaning agents, cosmetics, detergents, textiles and dye auxiliaries, pulp and paper making, oilfield, agriculture chelated fertiliser, etc.
